Gambling Concerns
Support for when gambling or sports betting has taken control of your life…
What may have started as a social outlet, invigorating hobby, or quick way to earn money can easily get out of hand, because gambling is designed to be addictive. You might still experience the excitement of possibilities with each bet placed or hand dealt while knowing in the back of your mind that you don’t want to keep heading down this road.
OR, maybe, someone you love is navigating a gambling problem or addiction, and you are seeking support for yourself to manage the emotional load that comes with loving someone whose life has gotten off track.
There are many reasons a gambling or betting habit might become unmanageable. Together, whether you’re hoping to get ahead of what your habit could become, or if you’ve been trying to navigate your addiction on your own and you’ve reached your breaking point, I want to help. We can take on each of aspect of your gambling to reorient you in a direction towards control, healing, and freedom.
After seeing the impact that gambling addiction can have on athletes and high performers through my time working in the sports industry, I became motivated to pursue further education and specialization to be able to support those whose life is consumed by the chase of the next win. I am pursuing my International Gambling Counselor Certification (ICGC-I). The process requires over 30 hours of classroom training and 100+ hours of direct care for people managing their relationship to gambling and/or their family members.
