Athletes & Athletics Support Staff
Athletes
Oh, my friends - I see how hard you work!
As a lifelong competitive athlete and having worked the majority of my career as a therapist in D1 Athletics Departments, I am no stranger to the pressures, demands, and unique nature of being an athlete.
Whether you want to work on:
Mental performance
Creating pregame routines, resetting after a mistake, finding your ideal intensity level, changing your negative thoughts, improving confidence, and more!
Finding balance in your many obligations
Making your perfectionism work for you, not against you
Managing conflict with teammates or coaches
Coping with and bouncing back from surgery or injury
… or just want to talk about life with someone who knows the athlete mind and lifestyle - I can help you!
I also enjoy working with athletes who are considering retiring or are being forced to retire for any reason. The transition out of sport is unlike any other change, but the lessons you learn as an athlete stay with you wherever life takes you next.
Together, we can figure out what those lessons are, how they apply to the rest of your life, and work on coping with the grief of the change in identity and lifestyle.
Athletics Support Staff
I worked at the D1 level for seven years and have been in your position! The pressure of being in the world of athletics is cutthroat, no matter what level of competition or type of sport. You give so much of yourself to your athletes and coworkers that it’s easy to overlook your own needs.
I can help you sort, improve, and communicate your boundaries. I can provide perspective and tools to navigate the demands of the job in a way that is a bit more constructive than simply venting with your coworkers.
And if you just want to talk about your personal life with someone who understands the unique nature of your job, I am here for that too.
If you’re not taking care of yourself, you can’t take care of others. Let’s work together to make it easier for you to practice that self-care you preach.
